FB50 is what SAP calls an "Enjoy" transaction. The posting keys are =
predefined so the user just has to enter either debit or credit not 40 =
or 50 or some other posting key. All of the fields needed for entry can =
be put on one screen including the document header information.=20F-02 is not an Enjoy transaction, it is the "old" posting transaction =
where the header information is entered on the first screen and then the =
line items are entered on subsequent screens. The user has to choose an =
appropriate posting key like 40 or 50 when doing this entry.Barb Bunker

Dear Vivek,
I think the fundamental difference between FB50 and F-02 is that
FB50 allows for posting which involves direct postings to GL accounts only.
F-02 allows you to post to sub-ledger accounts (vendors, customers, assets)
as well as it gives the user the flexibility to enter the posting keys.
Hence F-02 allows direct as well as indirect postings to the GL accounts.Regards,

FB50 is an "Enjoy" transaction with a pre-configured set of conditions like
posting keys for credit and debit etc. F-02 is a transaction where the
details are entered by the user during the transaction. Gives flexibility to
the user. For example if FB50 is configured to take posting keys 40 & 50, it does not
permit the user to enter account codes other than the GL accounts in the
transactions, whereas in F-02, you can enter accounts based on the posting
keys which is an enterable field.(My Thanks to Barbara Bunker)

hi seetharaman
Can you make changes to the fb50 so that the user can enter the posting keys
in this transactions ?Regards
Girish

Hi Girish,
The posting keys are pre-defined in SPRO. Hence the user will not be able to
enter the posting keys during the transaction.Regards,

Seetharaman,
Is it possible to change the transaction so that user will be able to post documents on subledgers? Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

For those of us that are new to config, can you shed any light on where and what in SPRO needs to be configured. We are trying to use FB50 but getting the error message "Posting key not defined (F5 817)" when tring to select debit or credit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
